About Me
Due Monday, September 4.
Write about yourself, your background, and what your goals are at Gonzaga.
Yourself:
Who
are you? What drives you? If your family is significant to you, tell me
about them; or your hometown; or your passions; or formative
experiences.
My name is Sophia Marx and I am from Portland, Oregon. Even though I love Portland, I am very excited to be in a new city with different people, views, and community! My faith is a huge part of my life and continuing my education at a catholic and jesuit institution was very important to me. My family is so important to me and I don't know where I would be without them!
Your background:
What
brought you here to GU? What brought you here to this class? As you look
at the syllabus, which parts stand out to you, and what's missing?
GU was the first college that I ever visited so it felt like a full circle moment when I decided to attend. The nursing program and the community is really what drew me in and it feels sort of crazy to really be on campus and attending school. While I didn't choose this seminar, I was very happy to be placed in it since I find religion so fascinating and like a question that never has a completed answer. I like how in the syllabus one of the goals is to understand and compare disciplines. That sounds super important and super relevant.
Your goals:
What
are your goals at GU (academic, social, personal)? What are you curious
about in this class? Do you have a driving question in your studies
more generally, or in your life?
By the end of my time at GU, I want to know that the career I have chosen is right for me or at least want to feel comfort in my decision. I'm really curious to diving more into the "and stuff" portion of this class. There are so many possibilities of what the could be and that's really intriguing to me. Right now I don't feel like I have a driving question.
